“Our strength is the will to constantly improve, help each other and think long-term”

Mikael Vetterskog looks back at 2025 below, but first a few words about developments during the year.

2025 is the year when Fårbo Mekaniska AB became Fårbo Manufacturing AB to mark continued business development. The name change also shows a willingness to work with international companies that have their markets in other countries, as well as with those who focus on Sweden. Deep insights into the customers’ market and their needs are important for Fårbo to position itself correctly with its offer.

This insight enabled management to adapt and develop the business even when demand temporarily slowed down in some segments during the year. In parallel, strategic investments were made that strengthened the company’s efficiency, quality and delivery capabilities in a changing market.

The result has been new business and recognitions that strengthen the position for 2026 and beyond.

Work on the brand and marketing
In parallel with the development of the business, a new logo and new graphic profile were launched, as well as clear core values for the business. A new website for the entire business, with a webshop for the Toolbits and Kohlswakedjan product areas, was also launched.

Intensified sales efforts
Fårbo successfully participated in many tenders, including winning multi-year contracts worth around SEK 25 million annually for the stockpiling of customers’ products. These are important deals that secure future revenues. At the Industrial Fair in Borlänge in November, Fårbo also met several new potential customers, which means that the market situation is expected to be even stronger towards the end of the year.

Strategic investments in capacity
Several investments to increase capacity and flexibility were made during the year. A new lathe was installed in November with first test run with actual customer order within a week of delivery – a record!

The year also saw the installation of a complete production cell for a customer-unique product, with a robot-operated processing machine, and an advanced robotized assembly cell.

Progress has also been made on the software front. Among other things, the AI-based order booking has been further developed to streamline administration and thus enable the expansion of staffing in production.

Continuous development through smart efficiency
Fårbo’s management team took a step forward with new smart efficient ways of working after the summer. Among other things, the management team meetings and the quarterly strategy days were changed. “Rearview mirror reviews” for lessons learned were developed to the next level. During the autumn, work also began on certification for another ISO standard, ISO450001 for Work Environment, which is an important part of the overall sustainability work.

Mikael looks back at 2025
– Christmas is approaching and it is a good time to stop for a moment – to reflect and to give thanks. I want to thank our customers for the trust they have placed in us, thank our partners for the valuable interaction and thank our employees, who with great responsibility and personal commitment make a difference every day.

– 2025 has been a year of both challenges and opportunities. In a market characterized by uncertainty, we have nevertheless chosen to invest in the things that form the basis of our motto “Passion for Machining”, i.e. in technology, people, partnerships and faith in the future. We have installed several new machining centers and robots, expanded our use of AI and hired several new employees in production. With the help of new technology and strong teamwork, we have taken important steps towards increased efficiency and sustainability. Our scrap rate has been reduced, our delivery precision is increasing and more customers have chosen to place their production with us.

But it’s not the numbers and results that define us. It is the culture.

Our willingness to constantly improve, help each other and think long-term, with the We feeling stronger than ever, is the most important success factor. Many both dared and succeeded fantastically well in taking on greater responsibility in new roles, but also in meeting the challenging need for extra shifts during certain periods. This was also noticeable when we took a break and went to Norway to mountain bike over a mountain top!

As we look to the future, it is with great confidence. 2026 means more new investments are on the horizon, new technologies will be shaped, and new opportunities await.

Our vision is clear – we will be the most committed partner in metal cutting. We do this by listening, developing and delivering correctly – at all stages and at all times. Succeeding with that certainly looks promising with the customers, partners and staff we have at Fårbo! Thank you for being part of our journey.

– I and the rest of the management wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Everyone at Fårbo Manufacturing has contributed to a great 2025. They are looking forward to further opportunities in 2026 and continued great collaborations. Thank you to all customers, partners and other stakeholders!
