Rooted in a proud steel tradition
Fårbo Manufacturing was founded in Fagersta in 1988. Here, in the heart of the Bergslagen steelmaking region, there are many other companies born of the same proud industrial tradition, such as Epiroc, Fagersta Stainless, and Seco Tools, which is part of the Sandvik Group.
In addition, within a radius of 250 km, there are ABB, Hitachi Energy, Metso, OilQuick, Outokumpu, Quintus Technologies, Systemair, plus quite a few other international and local companies in need of machining.
Fårbo Manufacturing is a privately owned and independent company with a clear growth strategy. We know that those who do not develop, will sooner or later be phased out. That’s why we work continuously on business development, automation, renewed manufacturing technology and increased digitization that keep us at the forefront of technological development.

2005New ownership and new ideas
Roger Berggren, with long industry experience and innovative ideas, takes over ownership and expands the business. Roger changes the focus of the company from being a service workshop to focusing on contract manufacturing. The premises are expanded and major investments are made in machinery.

The business reaches a milestone in terms of turnover and has a stable customer base.
2016First acquisition
Fårbo Mekaniska acquires the production of Toolbits from Westlings in Vansbro. These Toolbits are cutting steel with hardness HRC 68-70.
2018 – 2020Broadening the business and expanding the ownership base
Fårbo Mekaniska (now Fårbo Manufacturing) acquires 100% of the shares in Kohlswa Kedjan AB from David and Märta Grimaldi. This acquisition creates a base for own products. The ownership circle is expanded with experienced people who have a background from SVIA, ABB and Hexagon.

2024New management team and intensive work on digitalization
The management team changes and now includes representatives of finance, HR, quality and production, as well as the CEO. Intensive digitization work begins in production planning, production support and administration.

Our vision
The safe choice
We are your most committed partner when it comes to machining. We have a sustainable business focus and help to keep industrial production, skills and jobs in Sweden.
In our company, everyone takes responsibility, solves challenges together, and contributes to smart and efficient manufacturing solutions throughout our business.
Our values
A solid foundation
for well-being and success
Our values, or core values, are anchored with all our employees. The values are clear guiding principles for our daily work, where the goal is to always deliver the best solution to our customers. Our values also help to create job satisfaction, credibility, and a perception of us as a serious, responsible company.
The safe choice
We want to be the safe choice for our customers, for new employees and for all other stakeholders we work with. This means that trust, or confidence, is central. We achieve this through openness and honesty and by keeping our promises. We are also open to ongoing reviews of what we have done well and what we can do better next time – we are a learning organization that always wants to improve.
Personal commitment
At Fårbo Manufacturing everyone is part of a team. A team where everyone matters equally and everyone contributes to the whole. Each employee also has their own responsibility to ensure that they receive and deliver in a way that does not disrupt the work or our processes. We help each other, and put the team before the self, even though everyone has the right to have an opinion and all contribute to our common success.
Smart efficiency
A team must train together to keep winning. Better technique, better understanding of the game and more teamwork lead to success. For a business, the same applies: Competitors want to take over our customers and suppliers may choose other companies over ours.
That’s why we challenge each other to constantly improve. In other words, we want to be more efficient in everything we do, where automation, both in production and in supporting functions, helps us maintain a leading position.
Sustainability for competitiveness
The concept of sustainability encompasses three pillars: economic, social and environmental responsibility. Read more about our sustainability work.
Sustainability for competitiveness means we review everything we do to live up to the pillars, making us an attractive choice for customers, employees and suppliers. Minimized rejects, for example, result in lower raw material costs, better prices to customers, and fewer transports for recycling. With two shifts combined with opportunities for wellness and exercise, we ensure that our employees have a balanced life, which contributes to joy at work. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religion, nationality, or gender.
