Team Fårbo at Bike Race in Norway

One of Fårbo Manufacturing’s values, which should also be reflected in external perceptions of the company, is “Sustainability for competitiveness”. In addition to the obvious sustainability, this also means that Fårbo is committed to ensuring that all employees are offered opportunities for wellness and exercise for a good balance in life, which can also help to create community and joy in the daily work.

The Birkebeinerrittet is Norway’s largest cycling race, inspired by the journey of Birkebeiner warriors Torstein Skjevla and Skjervald Skrukka, who in 1206 carried the young heir to the Norwegian throne to safety over the mountains. Reminiscent of the origins of the Vasaloppet!

The race offers a unique experience that combines nature, tradition and performance. With mountain scenery along the course and the finish line awaiting in Lillehammer, participants can choose between different distances – whether they are chasing victory, testing their limits or just enjoying the ride.

Fårbo gathered 11 participants for this year’s edition. They arrived in Lillehammer on Friday, August 29, and left the next day for the competition in Rena. It must be said that these 11 did more than just enjoy the ride – they tested their limits and someone certainly sniffed a really good result!

Mikael Vetterskog, CEO, one of the 11, describes the experience: “The trip over the Norwegian mountains offered more challenges than the approximately 1,400 meters of altitude in the form of relatively abundant rainfall at times, but cheered on by many happy Norwegians and a lot of mountain cows and mountain sheep, all eleven participants made it all the way to the finish in impressive times between 4h, 13min, 30sec and 6h, 42min, 24sec.”

Heard from an unknown cyclist in Team Fårbo: “The Norwegians have built an incomprehensible amount of uphills! And when it goes downhill in the end, it was not in moderation…”

At the finish line, the sun shone on a happy Team Fårbo, wearing bike racks in line with Fårbo’s new graphic profile, a very nice detail, and their muddy bikes.

It can be revealed that the one who had the best time was one of the two customers who also participated, namely Martin Strand from Ramén Valves – but then the Fårbo team is very customer-oriented where satisfied customers are the goal!

Mikael again: “I am very proud of each of the participants, they made fantastic efforts on the mountain on Saturday and I know that they were really challenged by the trip. It shows what strength we have in the team, and we’ll take that home with us to Fårbo and everyday life!”
