Spin of Hope is organized by the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation with the aim of raising money for the important research and
support for affected children and their families. The fundraising is done through spinning sessions carried out with the help of organizers who have facilities with access to spinning bikes.
The organizer offers participants to book one or more spinning sessions or the traditional relay, which involves keeping a bike running for 12 hours
in a team.
12 participants in a team means that 125 SEK per person is raised. If a team wants to contribute a little extra, they book one or more gold bikes, which generate extra contributions.
This year, First Class Gym Fagersta organized a Spin of Hope for the second year in a row. Fårbo Mekaniska bought two bikes in the Gold Bike category and therefore had the task of keeping two bikes running for 12 hours.
In addition to two bicycles of their own, there were two extra deposits to the Children’s Cancer Fund when they bought an extra bike at two sessions.

Team Fårbo performed outstandingly as usual, with many staff members stepping up and keeping the pedals moving. Some even ran several sessions to contribute to pediatric cancer research.
Mikael Vetterskog, CEO, also rode and was pleased to note afterwards: “Just like last year, Fårbo excelled by not only keeping the bikes running in an exemplary way, but also by demonstrating the unique Fårbo spirit on site – we hung out together more than any other team between the breaks and many liked the cozy ‘Fårbo Corner’ in the lobby where Team Fårbo had coffee, cuddled and had a good time together throughout the day. We ordered pizza and invited both staff at the gym and tired cyclists from other teams. As appreciated as nice!”.
