– The Fårbo Kohlswakedjan chain is a simple
but reliable solution.

Bo Ansbjer heads the company Flexus Balasystem, which manufactures baling systems. The system compresses and packs waste, wood chips, plastic and car tires, feed material and much more into round bales to simplify transport and storage.
The origin of the system comes from agriculture, but it has been further developed for industrial applications. One advantage of baling material is that the risk of mold, fermentation or moisture is minimized as air is forced out of the bale. The bale can then be stored longer without problems due to moisture from air inclusions. The material in the bales can then be stored for a long time, for example at incinerators, where a stock of combustible material is always needed to ensure uninterrupted combustion. Another advantage of baling is that it simplifies transportation.
Flexus baling systems are available in different versions and with different capacities. What the systems have in common is that they consist of an infeed conveyor, a baler and a bale conveyor, which can hold up to three finished bales. The central part is the baler where the material is compressed. In the conveyors, chains are used to drive the conveyor belts. The correct tension of the chains is important for optimal operation of the conveyors.
Flexus Balasystem has used Fårbo Kohlswakedjan for over 30 years to ensure stable operation in their systems. They use link 78 with drives from Fårbo and link 103 with their own drives. An advantage of the links from Fårbo is that they are durable and made for tough conditions and can easily be replaced when worn.
Bo Ansbjer comments on the choice of links and drives:
– The Fårbo Kohlswakedjan chain is a simple and reliable solution for moving material. The right tension is important, not tight, but just right. The links wear over time but it is easy to change the links.
